For Watermelon Simple Syrup

Instructions

  1. To make the watermelon simple syrup, combine sugar and watermelon juice in small saucepan over medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, and measure out two ounces. Keep remaining watermelon simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  2. Combine the vodka, simple syrup and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour vodka mixture into two ice filled mule mugs. Top each glass with 1 oz of ginger beer. Garnish with watermelon wedges and mint sprigs and enjoy!

What is watermelon simplen syrup? The recipe is useless if you dont ALSO provide the recipe for one of the ingredients.

Thank you for pointing that out for us, Beth. We’ve updated the recipe with the watermelon simple syrup instruction. Any 1:1 ratio will work of watermelon juice to sugar, and dissolve over heat. Makes a very tasty watermelon cocktail ingredient to boost that sweet flavor!
